Chocolate Hazelnut Spread

This month is Vegan month – so yes, You have guessed it! All the recipes will be vegan , but no less delicious!

Ditch the Nutella and try this for a perfect autumn treat – the only problem I have with it is not eating it all at once!

Ingredients:

190g hazelnuts (roasted for 5 mins @ 180C and cooled slightly)

75g maple syrup

20g cacao powder

75g water (extra water to personal taste for desired thickness)

Method:

  1. Put hazelnuts in a food processor until they broken down and completely smooth.
  2. Add cacao powder. Blitz until combined
  3. Add the water and maple syrup. Blitz until combined. Use extra water if you would like it to be thinner. ( but then it cannot be used as easily for chocolates but is perfect for spreading)
  4. Store in a jar / sealed container in the fridge.

Notes:

Always use a clean spoon when taking some from the container or it will go off quicker. You can use a different liquid sweetener and reduce it for your personal taste.
